Purpose:
The Feasibility study will use cameras with built–in AI monitor spray drift in real–time. Adjustment instructions are automatically sent to drivers via wireless alerts, and, where applicable, to automated spray systems. Tractor speed, spray spread, and nozzle adjustments for droplet size can be adjusted, either by the driver or automatically, to mitigate spray drift in real–time. Low–cost, self–contained systems can be easily deployed to tractors and operate on battery power. No network connectivity is required as AI processes onboard the camera system. The device broadcasts a dedicated WiFi network or joins machine–area–networks if available, and drivers can connect via smartphone even where mobile networks are unavailable.
