The purpose of the Grant is to provide funding to support wildlife rehabilitators through the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife, to rescue, treat and rehabilitate wildlife impacted by bushfires and return them into suitable natural environments or otherwise take care of them.
The grant may also contribute to: the provision of safety training for volunteers entering fire grounds; communication activities to enhance carer safety; purchasing of first aid equipment and consumables; replacement of infrastructure, equipment, and premises impacted by bushfires; the development of mental health resources; and a strategy to support volunteer retention.
