Purpose:
The Employee Mobilisation & Development – Western Region (VIC) project aims to address transport limitations and employer specific English language requirements as well as enabling long–term transport independence for up to 100 migrant jobseekers. The project aims to provide immediate transport solutions via a chartered bus services for individuals commencing prior to public transport start times and address the employer's language requirements and language proficiency requirements. In addition, the project will provide funding for driving lessons and licensing as well as introductions to micro–financing organisations for the purchase of reliable vehicles. The latter stages of the project will also incorporate budget support and management. The regional scope of the project is the western suburbs of Victoria with emphasis on individuals from non–English speaking backgrounds. The key activities are transport solutions, employer specific English support, funding for driving and licensing, budget management and introduction to micro–financing organisations.
