Purpose:
This project is community–led action on a major slumping of the creek bank in the Cabbage Tree Creek. This project consolidates works on previously rehabilitated riparian zone along Sandgate Road. The objectives of this project are to 1) Provide a plan for the major in–stream slumping and erosion issues, by engaging a consultant (major erosion control works are beyond the scope of community project), to facilitate action by decision makers. 2) To provide buffering to erosion area, by rehabilitating surrounding areas with weed control and re–vegetation works. 3) To educate the wider community in catchment management, through a community day. This is the rehabilitation of a major creek rehabilitation area, valued by local community.
