Advancing the treatment of brain cancer in children
Purpose:
Brain cancers are the number one cause of cancer related death in children. Treatment for this group of cancers is aggressive and includes chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. This research will develop innovative nano-sized drug carriers to deliver therapies and imaging agents to detect and kill brain tumours. If successful, this work has the potential to markedly change treatment strategies to improve the survival of paediatric brain cancer patients.
