Purpose:
The Maker Space will provide a permanent place where students, teachers and parents can come together to engage and explore STEM activities through the use of imagination, design, creating, testing, improving and sharing. This space will help maximise student engagement with STEM and give them access to explore with emerging technologies. We have been developing teacher and student capabilities in coding and robotics but lack dedicated space. A Maker Space will facilitate and extend ease of delivery of STEM lessons. It will allow collaboration, exploration and tinkering with materials to create solutions to challenge projects across our K–6. A Maker Space will encourage interest in and enthusiasm for problem based inquiry learning.
