Grant Activity:
Reducing sex disparities in stroke through a deeper understanding of risks and management patterns
Purpose:
Each year, 11,000 Australians die from one of the biggest killers in Australia and globally, stroke. There is high demand for effective prevention and treatment strategies. However, published evidence suggests that women and men experience the disease and its medical care differently. My research aims to better understand why such differences exist and how to provide sex-specific, strategies to improve survival from stroke.
