Grant Activity:
A First-In-Class Tumour Matrix Targeting Approach to Enhance Chemotherapy in Pancreatic Cancer
Purpose:
Chemotherapy is the standard-of-care for pancreatic cancer patients. Whilst chemotherapy initially works, it quickly becomes ineffective and patients go on to relapse. One reason for this failure is chemotherapy-induced scarring (fibrosis) in and around the tumour. This scarring blunts the effectiveness of subsequent rounds of treatment. Our preliminary data show that our novel compound can block this scar formation offering a novel stromal targeting approach to improve chemotherapy efficacy.
