Grant Activity:
Bioengineered skeletal muscle to discover therapies for age-related muscle weakness
Purpose:
As we grow older the positive effects of exercise training in muscle are reduced. This project will use 1000s of lab made mini-muscles, which act and function like real human skeletal muscle to understand changes that occur when we get older and how muscle responds to training. By understanding these changes we aim to identify new therapies to treat age-related muscle weakness, so that every Australian can be active and healthy in their older years.
