MEMOIR-AUS: A multi-site placebo-controlled trial of memantine and graded motor imagery for complex regional pain syndrome in Australia.
Purpose:
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is the most distressing and disabling of all chronic pain conditions; 75 percent of patients report suicidal attempts/thoughts. Treatment guidelines limited. During my PhD, I will test whether the combination of two promising interventions, memantine and graded motor imagery, is effective for improving pain intensity in patients with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in a fully powered, high-quality clinical trial.
