Inflammation and chronic infections in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease: the role of amyloid cross-seeding.
Purpose:
This project seeks to evaluate the pathological role of inflammation and infections in the development and progression of Alzheimer’s disease, the most common cause of dementia. The knowledge generated in this study will guide future drug discovery and development approaches against Alzheimer’s disease, especially for people who have faced acute or chronic inflammations or have been affected by bacterial and fungal infections.
