North Steyne SLSC Solar Power Project
Purpose:
NSSLSC proposes to install rooftop Solar PV Panels on the eastern and northern roofs of the SLSC to provide 17.5kW of power for SLSC activities and other community groups who use the hall. At a later date they will look at battery storage. The Club needs to raise money each season beyond membership fees. This comes from grants, fundraising, sponsorship etc. Money saved on electricity means more funds can be put towards volunteer surf lifesaving activities, SLS programs including education, training and nippers programs as well as vital lifesaving and rescue equipment. Solar panels will also reduce the CLub's carbon footprint which has proven to be important to members.
