Purpose:
The Heavy Industry & Trades Multi Skills Program has been developed to address high levels of unemployed and under educated job seekers in Port Pirie, in sectors where there is strong industry demand for workers. The program will provide job seekers with a diverse range of industry skills, experience and support across a range of trade and heavy industry sectors, to ensure the region has a pool of work–ready people to meet the current and future workforce needs of these sectors.
The program will support the following industry sectors:
– Engineering
– Electrical & Renewables
– Mining & Civil
– Construction
Job seekers who successfully complete the course will have the skills required to commence entry–level positions including labourers, operators, apprenticeships, traineeships and trades assistants.
