Purpose:
Hospitality Service Excellence aims to provide 2 training program across the Murraylands and Riverland respectively with the key objective to provide premium service training to unemployed or underemployed jobseekers and existing supervisors to give them additional skills and knowledge to be able to work in a premium hospitality environment. Premium hospitality service has been identified as a barrier to employment and an identified skills gap from industry bodies, businesses and visitors to the region. As part of the training, we are also including our highly regarded non accredited module "Tourism Ambassador" which is designed to teach participants to share with a customer knowledge of the local region and key points of interest. This has shown to increase customer service as well as assist in generating additional tourism revenue in related businesses. 30 jobseekers will be trained in premium hospitality skills and accredited units to be able to gain employment in the Murraylands and Riverland regions. Training for existing supervisors/team leaders will also be provided to upskill the existing workforce and provide mentoring to assist in carrying out learning of participants in the future keeping to the premium hospitality service excellence delivery. Each program will consist of accredited and non–accredited units and be conducted over 8 days. Accredited: Provide responsible service of alcohol Use hygienic practices for food safety Non–accredited : Service Excellence Tourism Ambassador Practical Restaurant and Function Skills Plate Carrying Tray Carrying Additional one–day mentor workshop for existing workers (supervisors & team leaders) to include: Managing Staff Performance Effective Supervising Maximising Productivity A graduation ceremony will be held on conclusion of the participants work placement where they will gain a statement of attainment certificate and be given feedback and encouragement for future.
