International Institute for Justice Counter-Terrorism Academic...
• The purpose of the Grant is to build sustainable, systemic capacity that will allow target countries in Southeast Asia to pursue criminal justice approaches to preventing and countering terrorism and violent extremism through a rule of law framework. The Grant will build institutionalised knowledge, skills, procedures and practices required to effectively manage CT-related cases and individuals in the criminal justice system. The Grant will also build long-term relationships between key stakeholders.
• The operational objectives of this Grant are for the IIJ to deliver two courses, based on its online Counter-Terrorism Academic Curriculum (eCTAC) and Counter-Terrorism Academic Curriculum (CTAC), for investigators, prosecutors and examining judges from, and operating in, Southeast Asia. The courses are intended to provide an in-depth foundational education to mid-level practitioners in the counter-terrorism field, building the capabilities of Australia’s partner countries in the Southeast Asia region to counter terrorism as well as prevent and counter violent extremism.
