TSBE works with regional SMEs to access international opportunities through exporting. As part of this deliverable, TSBE has identified huge market potential in South Korea. With lucrative prospects for food & agriculture and METS SMEs, TSBE is proposing to take a delegation of 15 businesses to the Republic of Korea, for an exclusive business to business matching trade mission. TSBE will use the funding to facilitate a market insights and trade readiness session, followed by a virtual meet the buyer prior to the trade mission. The market insights and trade readiness session will provide participants with insights on consumer trends, the business landscape, requirements for export and post COVID-19 market update by in market specialists. Following this, TSBE will engage with Government stakeholders such as TIQ and Austrade to facilitate a virtual meet the buyer, where participants will be matched to interested Korean stakeholders. An allocation of the grant funding would be portioned towards assisting with sample freight for applicable businesses. Lastly, the project would be concluded with a trade mission to South Korea. Regional Queensland exporters will be able to utilise their established business network in commercialising their trade and commerce relationship with interested Korean buyers.
