Purpose:
The Mt Gravatt Community Centre will purchase and install a 5.49 kW solar PV power unit with the ability to add a battery storage system in the future. This system will generate clean electricity and help reduce the community s power bills. It will alleviate the demand on the national electricity grid as the centre will be mostly self-sufficient for our energy needs. Installing a 5.49 kW system would provide around 5,230kWh of electricity every year, this would save around 4,267 kg of CO2 annually and would be a proud achievement for our environmentally conscious community. The reduction in power bills will allow us to open up the community space more and utilise the savings on other activities like providing food hampers to the needy.
