Purpose:
The Chermside Burul Scouts will procure & install a 9.6KW solar PV which will enable us to role model sustainable environmental benefits by reducing our carbon footprint. From our youngest section, Joey Scouts we teach youth to actively care for our planet. This continues through each section as Scout activities inspire consideration for environmental impacts of our actions & leaving the planet better than we found it! A 9.6KW solar PV will generate 14709 KWh of electricity every year, saving 12.06 tons of CO2, making the Group sustainable by reducing emissions & contributing towards a renewable, global community. The substantial reduction in utilities will vastly improve financial viability enabling us to fund camping & hiking equipment.
