Novel Targeted Therapies for Chronic Pain
Purpose:
Using single cell sequencing technology, we have identified several drivers underlying spinal hyperexcitability in neuropathic pain. Here we will confirm our findings with new spatial technology that reconstructs the spinal anatomical map and assess the effectiveness of 1) boosting inhibition via cell transplants and 2) suppressing hyperexcitability via CRISPR. Our work leverages new functional genomic technologies to rapidly deliver new safe, effective pain management approaches to the clinic.
