Grant Activity:
Overcoming chemoresistance in triple negative breast cancer
Purpose:
Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most challenging breast cancer to treat. There is no reliable targeted therapy available and chemotherapy is the standard of care. About 20-25% of patients will become chemoresistant. For these patients, there are few viable treatment options available and their median survival is about 12 months. In this study, we aim to better understand the pathways to chemoresistance and to use a novel paradigm to develop new drugs to circumvent chemoresistance.
