An accurate and efficient AI solution to camera-trap data processing for...
Camera traps have revolutionised biodiversity monitoring, yet manual image processing limits their efficiency. Artificial intelligence (AI) shows huge potential for improving the speed and cost-effectiveness of camera-trap image processing. However, despite great promise, widespread application of AI is challenging. This is due to the large number of high-quality target species images, which are required across a range of habitats, to accurately train the AI model. Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) delivers the most extensive biodiversity monitoring program in the country, across almost 13 million hectares, and is uniquely situated to address this challenge.
