Grant Activity:
Defining a novel waste disposal mechanism that aids vascular homeostasis and prevents inflammation
Purpose:
The survival of our cellular building blocks is crucial to prevent disease. One way in which our cells maintain their health is through disposing of cellular waste. This project will investigate a new waste disposal system employed by key cells that line the vascular system. Through advanced mouse models and imaging techniques, this project will determine how our cells survive under healthy and disease conditions, and how disposing of their waste correctly can prevent harmful inflammation.
