Purpose:
Our current system is one of 10 solar panels (2050W) with a 1700 inverter, installed in 2009. This system has created a cost saving of approximately $250 per year to our centre. This system is in need of maintenance which is proving to be costly and parts are not readily available because of its age. With our current system, the panels are connected so if one is even slightly shaded, no panels are working to collect power (we have a shady tree that slightly shades one panel during the summer months). Our new proposed system has 28 solar panels (10360W) with a 8000K inverter. These panels operate independently so if one panel is slightly shaded, it will not affect the other panels in their working capacity. This system is estimated to create a saving of $3000 towards our energy costs. For our centre we will be able to have a solar system that creates a significate cost saving to us and allows us keep our natural shady environment for our kindy children.
