Brisbane Writers Festival 2023 - Country of Focus - Korea
Purpose:
After successfully launching the Country of Focus initiative in 2022 with an extensive program on Aotearoa/New Zealand and the Pacific, in 2023, BWF will focus on the literature of Korea. The Korean program will highlight the recent international success of novelists such as Cho Nam-Joo, Sang Young Park, Kyung-Sook Shin as well as writers of the Korean diaspora such as Min Jin Lee and David Yoon. The program will cover fiction (novels, short stories, novellas) and non-fiction writers, and poets across Brisbane with the hub of the festival being the State Library of Queensland. The program will also include an online component aimed at school children, young adult and adult readers.
