Grant Program:
Soil Carbon Measurement Innovation Challenge
Grant Activity:
Technology for lower cost & accurate Australia-wide soil carbon projects
Purpose:
CarbonLink is set to revolutionise the way we approach and measure soil condition with their Integrated Landscape Management System (ILMS). This advanced and novel system combines innovative soil proximal sensors, direct measurements from these sensors, and advanced spatial modelling to predict carbon at depth and its response to changes in management practices. This sophisticated technology will be tested on a larger scale across multiple farming regions with varying climates. Not only will ILMS help provide low-cost yet high-quality soil condition measurement, but the delivery of this project will offer detailed case studies applicable for future research and development. In an Australian context, ILMS will have a major impact on how we think about land management.
