Rocketing Girls Into Robotics
Purpose:
The Rotary Club of Corrimal Inc. will jointly run a program with Project Bucephalus which is a robotics group dedicated to the FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) not–for–profit mission of inspiring young people to become involved in science and technology. The project, 'Rocketing Girls into Robotics', based in Wollongong NSW will run robotics workshops for girls in primary and secondary schools in the area. Eight series of workshops (2hrs/week for 9 weeks) will cover Computer Programming, Robotics, Engineering and Science. This project will provide an all–girls environment which is to encourage primary school aged girls to participate, with female secondary school girls as mentors.
