Grant Activity:
SETDB1 Epigenetic checkpoint blockade: A new approach to enhance immune-mediated control
Purpose:
SETDB1 is a novel drug target that mediates immunotherapy resistance. We have shown that the nuclear form of SETDB1 is enriched in tissue and blood samples from immunotherapy-resistant metastatic cancers. We have designed a new drug targeting nuclear SETDB1 (MSETC) that targets both cancer cells and simultaneously re-invigorates the immune system. In this project, we will undertake critical molecular pre-clinical studies towards advancing our prototypic drug (MSETC) to the clinic.
