Purpose:
Grant Agreement SKA75597
The purpose of the Grant is to assist with the design and development work for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) during the preconstruction stage.
The Grant is being provide as part of the Square Kilometre Array.
The SKA Project is an international effort to build a large–scale next generation radio telescope that will be hosted at sites in Australia and South Africa, with the headquarters based in the United Kingdom.
This project will deliver the following key activities:
– Development and submission of the AusSRC Business Case to the Australian Government.
• Development of requirements based on the inputs from the SKA, international SRC development.
– Development of requirements based on Australian SKA Precursors.
– Development and prototyping the elements of AusSRC system architecture.
– Execution of a range of assistant Australian SKA Precursors projects focused on maximizing the science outputs of ASKAP and MWA, and developing the precursor driven requirements.
– Development of functionally verified requirements and deployed elements of the SRC infrastructure between Australia and China.
– Development and prototyping of the architecture of the SKA1–low Science Archive.
– Prototyping solutions for the visual data analysis of SKA–scale data demonstrated in ASKAP and MWA science projects.
