Grant Activity:
Participation in RoboCup Junior Australia National Robotics Competition
Purpose:
Students will participate as teams in the Rescue Line division of the RoboCup Junior Australia national competition. The challenge scenario is set up as a disaster zone in which a robot is sent in to rescue a trapped victim. To achieve this outcome, their robot must be able to navigate autonomously along a line through, over and around obstacles to reach the victim. Students will work throughout the year to create a robot that will be able to navigate all challenges they may face on the day of the competition. This will require the students to develop cross-cutting skills in teamwork and project management, as well as technical skills in the physical design of robots and the development of code to run their robots autonomously.
