Purpose:
Chronic pain associated with musculoskeletal disease causes a major burden on individuals and health care systems. In this study, we will assay changes in whole-animal pain behavior, and pain signaling, in response to therapeutic delivery of designer nanoparticles in models of osteoarthritis and bone cancer pain. This project is exciting because it will provide proof-of-principle for the use of nanoparticles for on-demand, site-specific analgesia for osteoarthritis and bone cancer pain.
