Purpose:
The Discovery Centre Makerspace will be a flexible learning space providing access to a wide variety of technologies and tools that engage students in STEM related activities. Meaningful projects that align with curriculum programs, encouraging creativity, imagination and wonder in a guided inquiry environment are important in developing a maker skillset where students are not just consumers, but creative and productive. Students will be encouraged to develop a maker mindset where being open, inclusive, encouraging and generous allows them to become builders, creators, tinkerers, critical thinkers, problem solvers and collaborators.
