Purpose:
Ferntree Rainforest Lodge is located in Cape Tribulation Queensland, where there in no access to mains power. As there is no access to mains power, we rely on diesel generators to power our resort in the rainforest. The cost of diesel generation is high and due to the age of the property the rooms have inefficient energy consumption window–wall air conditioners and non–LED lighting. Replacing the window–wall air conditioners with new energy efficient split–system air conditioners and replacing all hotel room lighting with LED lighting will save approximately 180,062 kwh per year (as calculated by a licensed electrician). This equates to a total savings of $64,811.06 in diesel power generation costs per year.
