If you can see it, you can be it
Former Australian swimmer, Nicole Livingstone OAM, stated: "if you can't see it, you can't be it." This statement incapsulates the significance of female figures in our national consciousness and the need for their vitality and presence in the lives of Australian and Korean women of all ages. The AKBC’s project spotlights this issue. It involves a series of three breakfasts in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne, for women working in the Australia-Korea bilateral relationship to build leadership skills, share knowledge and establish a robust mutual network. The breakfasts will profile women who are leaders in their industry and have successful business relationships with Korea. We will leverage AKBC’s strong network of existing relationships with high-quality speakers and potential participants across Australia and Korea. The events provide a professional development opportunity for women to: • Exchange experiences and practical skills to succeed in a cross-cultural setting; • Workshop strategies to navigate challenges when working in Korea and Australia; • Build a stronger female business network; • Form long-lasting connections in a safe, Chatham-house rules environment; and • Access a deep pool of talent and mentor/mentee relationships, and provide Australian and Korean students in Australia with an opportunity to build professional networks.
