Grant Activity:
Develop specifications and guidelines to enable manufacturers to produce products that reduce the risk of buckle release and eliminate the road safety risks from the use of buckle-covers in Australia today.
Purpose:
This project will invite original and innovative thinking from a diverse group of industrial designers, researchers, engineers, technical experts, manufacturers, and others to co-create solutions to this road safety issue. After an initial global review of the market, participants will be identified and invited to co-creation workshops. The workshops will be hosted at the La Trobe University’s Centre for Technology Infusion. This workshop will contribute to the development of specifications and guidelines that will stimulate and accelerate manufacturers to produce products that prevent buckle release and respond to the road safety needs of the user.
