Evaluation of clinical pathways and patient outcomes for breast MRI in preoperative assessment and staging of breast cancer: Establishing when MRI improves patient outcomes and when it does not.
Purpose:
Essentially we will try to answer two questions: 1. “Can MRI reassure both the clinician and the patient as to the benignness of the ill-defined features seen on the mammogram/Ultrasound”. And 2. 'In which groups of women with newly diagnosed breast cancer can MRI improve treatment planning thus lead to better clinical and patient outcomes?'
