Purpose:
We are sending twenty–two year 10 students to Orlando, Florida for an immersive STEM experience. Student's will participate in an Astronaut Training Experience and the Mars Base One program, which aim to assimilate team culture, critical & creative thinking alongside STEM–related applications. To compare and contrast the diverse applications of STEM disciplines in a range of settings, students will visit Universal Studio's and participate in four separate STEAM workshops; in addition to participating in an Energy & Waves Physics Lab at Disneyworld to better understand the multiple factors that influence roller coasters, from both a visual and experiential perspective. Students will apply and test STEM knowledge in a vertical wind tunnel.
