Grant Program:
Koala Conservation and Protection
Grant Activity:
Connecting Koalas in Queensland and NSW primary habitat areas
Purpose:
Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) is committed to assisting private landholders and local communities in their efforts to restore and rehabilitate the habitat of Koalas. Through our support, we aim to increase the range and movement of these protected populations, improving their capacity to thrive. Our focus is on facilitating the movement of Koalas across two strategic population areas in Northern Rivers NSW and Campbelltown NSW by developing corridors. The main elements of our project will be planting 2750 Koala food and habitat trees, completing 20 hectares of weed control targeting Weeds of National Significance and engaging the public through on-ground planting events during an intensive Koala Calendar rollout in July 2024 in Campbelltown.
