The Mobile Poo Palace An inside look at the digestive system
Purpose:
The Mobile Poo Palace is a portable, oversized inflatable re-creation of the digestive system where children take a sensory adventure through the gastrointestinal tract. Interactive food experiments will inspire and engage students as they learn about digestion, gut health, medical research and water treatment. Since 2017, a static, non-inflatable Poo Palace has been the most popular activity of HMRIs annual Open Day with thousands of children passing through the simulated digestive tract. A mobile inflatable version will now be commissioned to take to primary schools and markets in the Hunter region (NSW) during National Science Week, hosted by HMRI scientists and researchers who will run inspiring, informative and memorable activities.
