Purpose:
Healthy skin and healthier lives are a high priority for Australia's Indigenous children to live longer and stronger. Dr Bowen leads a program of research which aims to improve the recognition, treatment and prevention of skin sores and scabies in Indigenous children living in the Kimberley region of WA. This research will inform strategies to reduce skin infections in Indigenous people from other areas of Australia, and in doing so, also prevent severe infections and rheumatic fever.
