PBS Program Name:
NHMRC 19/20 1.1 Health and Medical Research
Grant Program:
Investigator
Grant Activity:
Mechanistic and translational studies to improve the outcomes of high-risk paediatric cancers
Purpose:

Acute myeloid leukaemia and diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas are responsible for 20 percent of all cancer related deaths in Australian children. Although vastly different diseases, the protein machinery used by these cancers for their growth and survival can be identified using the same protein sequencing technologies. Revealing the proteins responsible for the survival of these cancers will allow for targeted treatments to be designed to reduce the disease burden of these deadly cancers.
