Landscape connectivity–protecting existing assets and revegetation P2
Purpose:
Combined project with Landscape Connectivity –protection of existing assets and revegetation P2 Combined, this project will fence off 3.6 ha of lowland native grassland (critically endangered), 7 ha of old growth White Gum forest and revegetate 17.8 hectares, linking up existing exclusion zones established over 20 years. This enhanced connectivity adds to the habitat and pathways for native fauna and insects to migrate safely across the landscape. This will be accomplished by excluding stock with 9 km of fencing, and planting 18,000 native plants at appropriate densities. This project adds to revegetation in the Midlands of Tasmania by Greening Australia, and is being accomplished in conjunction with Greening Australia.
