Grant Activity:
Identifying Advanced Liver Fibrosis in Primary Care
Purpose:
Significant scarring of the liver typically causes no symptoms until life-threatening complications occur such as liver cancer and liver failure when it is too late to treat its cause or provide care to prevent complications. This trial will examine whether using computer software integrated into a general practice and combined with new diagnostic tests will increase the detection of advanced liver fibrosis in patients with risk factors for liver disease who attend their general practitioner.
