Purpose:
The key activity of the project is to upgrade the building fabric to reduce energy usage. We will achieve this by replacing all single glazed windows with double glazed windows in the motel.
The intended outcomes of our project are to reduce energy use, improve energy productivity and deliver carbon abatement. This will be achieved as the double glazed windows will reduce the need to operate the reverse cycle air–conditioners for heating and cooling by improving the insulation properties of the existing windows and increasing energy efficiency within the motel reducing heating and cooling costs and energy consumption and reducing the need to use electricity to operate appliances i.e. air–conditioners delivering carbon abatement.
