Purpose:
The project will revegetate 4.7 hectares of degraded area adjoining existing Koala habitat areas with known Koala populations. The proposed revegetation areas have limited canopy trees and are currently overrun with dense exotic grass preventing ground movement of Koalas and most other Fauna species. These areas have some isolated koala food/habitat trees, currently inaccessible due to ground stratum being dominated by weeds. Through active and ongoing weed management and the associated revegetation works, this project will increase the amount of Koala food trees and habitat trees, improve the bio condition of the area and the adjoining areas, and increase fauna movement potential throughout the corridor.
