Purpose:
The project is to purchase and install a 12.5 kW grid connect solar system, which includes the supply and installation of 34 Phono 370 W panels and racking to the roof of the Camp Cypress dining room and the supply and install of 10 kW 3 phase Sungrow inverter. This project includes all Essential Energy approvals and STC rebates, materials and labour. Prior to installation of the photovoltaic array the installer will carry out a professional assessment of the roof structural capacity and to ensure that the solar array has the optimal layout, avoiding shaded areas that affect heat generation. The solar panel rows will be evenly spaced to allow for cleaning and maintenance; the panels will be connected in string circuits, which are in turn connected to inverters.
The project scope addresses the following –
Goal: reduce electricity bills for all users of the community–owned Camp Cypress dining room and conference facility.
Major deliverables: the installation of power–saving grid–connected solar panels and inverter.
Requirements: support from landholders, the Baradine Showground & Racecourse Crown Land Manager.
Assumptions: total project support from all Baradine Showground & Racecourse user groups.
Constraints: unable to acquire project funding.
