Muscle size and quality in people with hip-related pain
Purpose:
Hip pain is common in young active people who participate in sports such as football and can lead to poor quality of life and osteoarthritis later in life. One reason for this could be changes in the size and quality of hip muscles; although, evidence is lacking. This large prospective cohort study aims to determine the relationship between hip muscle size/quality and (i) quality of life and (ii) hip joint structure as determined by magnetic resonance imaging.
