Grant Activity:
Optimising the use of biologic medications in inflammatory bowel disease
Purpose:
Biologic agents have revolutionised the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Their use continues to increase on a yearly basis, with vedolizumab and infliximab being two of the most commonly used biologics for IBD. However despite their use in moderate-to-severe IBD cases, patients who are in remission may lose response to these biologic agents over time. We plan to perform two clinical trials to understand how to optimise the use vedolizumab and infliximab in clinical practice.
