Purpose:
The purpose of the Opening Minds, Building Futures – a career development project is to engage, inform and empower young people to identify career goals currently not considered available to them and to build confidence in parents and school influencers advising them. This partnership between AMES Australia and Centre for Multicultural Youth will combine expertise and skill sets of multicultural youth workers and career counsellors to support young people through a strength–based, co–designed and culturally sensitive approach. This project will service and support the Pasifika and South Sudanese communities in Melton, Brimbank, Casey and Dandenong in metropolitan Melbourne with a focus on years 7–10 students.
