Purpose:

Project will deliver Stage 2 of 30km Northern Beaches Leisure Trail an iconic recreational shared use path from Palm Cove to Cairns CBD. Specifically the project will link the beachside suburbs of Holloways &amp Machans Beach. Located on the foreshore, it will provide spectacular coastal views &amp encourage a healthy lifestyle by getting more people active through cycling &amp walking. In addition it will improve safety for commuters &amp children attending schools in the area as well as stimulate improved economic &amp tourism activity. Trail will cater for all types of users &amp provide safe linkages for residents from the beachside communities to education, sporting, recreation &amp social facilities away from high speed environment of Capt Cook Hwy.
