Grant Activity:
Human pain genes as a window into pain mechanisms and modern pain management
Purpose:
Chronic pain affects ~20% of the adult population at any one time, most people will suffer from chronic pain at some stage in their lives, and available pain treatments do not help the majority of pain patients. In this project we use new genomic knowledge and techniques to gain basic insight into pain biology and develop new gene editing therapies to treat extreme untreatable chronic pain.
